electroweak transition

At this time the electroweak force split into the electromagnetic force and the weak force (which is much weaker and has a smaller effective range). The electroweak phase transition was the last symmetry break; afterwards the fundamental forces were basically as they are today. Until it was cool enough for symmetry to break, all particles were functionally identical.
